biography

Scott earned a bachelor's degree in Radio-TV-Film from Texas Christian University, he received a master's degree in Cinema & Media Studies from the City University of New York. He left incomplete his pursuit of a PhD in Film Studies with the Department of Communication and Culture at Indiana University in order to make films instead of study them.

He has written and directed several music videos and short films - including PASSENGER MAN (starring Laura Ray), BLACK FIGS, and the 14 minute single take short A TEST. His films have played the San Antonio Film Festival, Hollyshorts Monthly series, NewFilmmakers - New York, Film Invasion - Los Angeles, the Silver State Film Festival, Austin Spotlight Film Festival, and more.

PASSENGER MAN, which won the “Best Narrative” prize at the 2020 Austin Spotlight Film festival, can be seen in season 4 episode 9 of the Amazon Prime series Discover Indie Film.

Scott operates in Austin as a writer/director, and colorist on numerous projects ranging from commercials, real estate videos, music videos, and short and feature films. As for his own work, Scott is currently prepping to shoot his next short film in spring 2023 while finishing the writing process on his first feature film.
